I… LOVE… newsletters. I’m so happy they’ve made a comeback, especially since it feels like getting little magazines in my inbox (when print mags are so in decline 😢 ).
I’m liberal with my subscribing, but in order to stay up to date and not spend 100% of my day in my inbox, there are a select few that I open almost as soon as I get them.
These are the newsletters (somewhat) related to brand and my work that inspire me the most at the moment:
Disclaimer: I have so many others that I love, especially from talented work friends! You can see some of them under my recommendations here.
- One of the few I pay for! I’ll admit, I did that by accident at first, but when it came time to renew after 6 months, I did it! I’d much rather read Emily’s roundups than any business publication out there. Turns out mixing a gossip-y tone with smart business news is a winning combo. - by one of said work friends, fellow brand strategist . Really enjoy Jamie’s thoughts on brand strategy + running a business - her newsletters are smart but not overly serious or dry, like I see with so many others! - is such a talented designer, and I love seeing the deep dives and inspiration she surfaces. Beyond the trendy mood board. - Like the name suggests, snackable insights into brand news and hot topics. - Really fun deep dives into packaging design, one category at a time. - Recovering marketing CEO tackles consumerism, status, and trends. On the surface looks like another recommendations newsletter, but goes so much deeper. , , - Three founder-written publications that I hope to cover deeper in a newsletter on founder-led branding soon. Helps me think about more personal, offbeat approaches to content for my clients.- In the vein of offbeat approaches to content, I love ’s mission to make us less reliant on social media and — most importantly — make it look easy, doable, and fun!
Pre-Meal by Will Guidara - An extension of Unreasonable Hospitality, with little stories and nuggets around how to be more generous in your business.
- Fun opinionated, comprehensive look at the CPG food industry. - By another work friend! dispatches news and essays from the world of online community building and social media. I always love her takes.Oliver Burkeman’s newsletter - Four Thousand Weeks is one of the books that’s stuck with me most, so I love getting these ongoing thoughts that always help orient me within my productivity.
I wish I could list a lot more, but I’d be here all day! Seriously… I read a lot of newsletters.
Other brand bits & bobs:
It was a joy to work with Tatiana Figueiredo to revamp positioning, personality + other elements of brand strategy for her rebrand from Business of Community -> Friendly Nooks. Tatiana's helping community leaders + creators make the internet a whole lot cozier and friendlier, while also building profitable businesses. That's the type of internet I want to see more of. As she puts it: What your audience is looking for is each other. I'm especially interested in seeing more creators go from creating audiences -> nurturing communities. You can see more about her thoughts going into the rebrand here.
Enjoyed this, about not following what every other brand is doing:
How good is the phrase “useful garbage”?? So many products exist that have a function and may be solving a problem, but are ultimately wasteful and have an environmental affect. Consumerism is such an issue. More about that:
This piece on the resurgence of fast food after such backlash was really interesting. Lot of thoughts as to why that is.
In more of-the-moment backlash, this piece on declining popularity of new cookware brands like Our Place. No matter how good your branding is, the product needs to match.
Loved this from Alison Roman on the aversion to constant self-promotion. Anyone who works for themself can relate. I have more thoughts on her new video style I’ll share next time…
My client Here and Now Travel just released their 2025 dates, including new trips to Guatemala and Ireland. They’re a social travel company for people in their 20s+30s to enjoy new countries like a local in a social group setting. It’s impressive how many travelers book trip after trip with them - I can understand because the trips look SO fun. They’re a small business still founded + almost 100% run by a couple that’s around my age. Would love for you to check them out if that sounds up your alley or you know someone who would love to experience the world this way.
I moved to Paraty, Brazil! Read more about it here 😊 if you like.

If you want to support my work in another way, I do have paid subscriptions turned on. I’m not offering additional content at this time for paid subscribers, so it’s kind of like a tip jar. A completely optional tip jar 😊
Wow wow wow! Thanks for the shout out! So honored to be among a great group. Can't wait to dig into these.
